It Just Never Crossed My Mind

With all of us sick around here I've been pushing liquids, rest, veggies & fruits. When a fever hits the kids I pull out the Tylenol and Motrin right away to nip it in the bud. Cough drops are being given out constantly (or so it seems). I'm doing everything any mother would do when her children are under the weather.

But what about me? Tim came in for lunch; I wasn't feeling well and basically whining over it. You know what he said? "Well have you taken anything for it?" What? ME take something? To make ME feel better? Like what? "DayQuil," he says. Well I just never thought of that and I admit it to him...something I really should never do. It's just not pretty the way he laughs at me!

Then a couple minutes later while I'm talking with my mother on the phone and thinking about what to make for lunch, I'm relating my most unfortunate conversation with Tim when it dawns on me that chicken noodle soup is supposed to help. Again, I just never thought about it. Again I made an admission, "I never said I was smart!" Again, she laughed. Will I never learn?

Seriously, it just never crossed my mind.
