Crazy Life

It's been so crazy around here the last couple weeks. My poor kiddos' stomachs are probably churning due to all the mac n' cheese, chicken nuggets, and hot dogs they've eaten.

I was purposely off the computer the week before last because my husband was going out of town for the weekend and if you don't know he's a pastor, which meant he needed to find a speaker. We're a small church and have a few people who will fill in but for one reason or another couldn't that particular weekend. That left us with a couple choices, he could stay home from this commitment he'd already made or I could do it. We'll just bypass the whole topic of women speaking in church because I know there are differing views, but I really didn't want to do it because I am not a public speaker. I've always figured my role is as supporter to his ministry and taking care of our children. However he kept asking and I kept saying no, but he was on the verge of having to cancel is trip so I finally relented. In the end it worked out very well and I spoke on a topic that had been on my heart for quite some time, giving praise to God because of who He is.

I also started a new Beth Moore bible study with a group of women. This is the third study we've done by Beth Moore, second one following her study guide. We're going through Breaking Free and I'm sure it's going to be great but it's been hard to get into. I'm know part of that could be blamed on being busy the first week putting together my Sunday message, then I was behind and trying to catch up with the first week while intending to get the second week done before we met again! AHHHHHHH!!! Just too much.

Then last Thursday was a sad day for our family - our kitty, Sheba, died. She'd started getting sick just a few weeks ago, it was really quite quick. Tim and I got her within the first year or two of getting married, so we had her 8-9 years. Our oldest is only six so she was here their entire lives. Caleb took it the hardest being the oldest as he'd considered her his cat. My husband was real sweet and gentle with them as he told them but it broke my heart to see them so sad.

On top of all that, I think all four of my kiddos are getting colds and not sleeping well...so neither am I, and I'm dealing with a sinus infection! I'm just praying we all get better soon because I don't know how much more I can handle in this fog! Although, in the end I guess I'll handle however much is given to me! Praise the Lord that mother's were made to be strong!!!

  2. Yep -- mamas can't get sick! Praying the kids are all better...we never know how much we can handle, but the best part is we have help from one Greater than us, right?

Come on over for some mom encouragement and inspiration!
